got tied up

i've been busy doing freelance the past couple weeks. it really doesn't leave me without anytime to create or express myself, but staring at a computer more then five hours makes me want to avoid anything related to that glowing one eyed beast for the rest of the day. this includes the blog your reading.

i did however finally get around to sketching a bit and thought i'd share some of the usual. i want to take some of my drawings further, but i need a focus. there has been a few suggestions that i should write and illustrate a childrens book, mainly from my mother, but still i think its a good idea. i've been wanting to do something like a book or zine for sometime now. lets see what happens.

ideas are flowing

or at the least there is a leaky pipe in the basement that might create a beautiful flood of development. i've never really considered the creative metaphors plumbing offers in relationship to the flow of ideas till now. just wait, i could be "showering" you with even more references as time goes by.

till then enjoy this sketch i did will dismissing an awful blueberry scone to the corner of my table as i sipped coffee and listened to an overly annoying server who couldn't deal with working on his day off. patrons love to be on the blunt end of that conversation. what a drip.

what flash cards have taught me

i purchased these flashcards at a vintage store the other day and have since concluded that ghost candles are responsible for most household fires.

the vendor had some other neat stuff, you can see here. it was the first time i've seen them at this particular co-op, so they might be new to the game. although some of these places are so jammed and unorganized, who knows.
