i watched a documentary recently called off the charts about song poems. unbeknownst to me there has been studio bands cutting tracks for people that mail in their lyrics since around the 1950-60's. these amateur lyricist have taken the time to read those small advertisements in the back of magazines and newspapers to discover for a small portion of money they can see their musical visions come to life with the potential of chart topping success. this method of musical rearing has produced some very beautiful car wrecks.
take this song for instance written by waskey elwood walls jr. and played by gene marshall. i believe waskey is the man rockin out to this funky owed to our 39th president. i really dig his thumb moves.
enticed? the rest of the documentary can be viewed here.
